MEET THE OWNER
Garrick Cornish, CPP, is the Owner and CEO of E.A.S.T. Protective Services Training. His career in security and public safety began in 2009 while studying Criminal Justice at Delaware State University, gaining hands-on experience in frontline security roles at amusement parks, malls, and college campuses. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, Garrick advanced to federal contract security, serving as a Uniformed Protection Officer for the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Physical Security Program. In this role, he was entrusted with securing State Department facilities, field offices, and high-profile events, including dignitary arrivals and assignments for the U.S. Secretary of State.
Garrick later transitioned to healthcare security, serving as a State of Delaware Commissioned Constable for Christiana Care Health Systems for nearly seven years. Rising through the ranks to Sergeant, he led the Field Training Officer Unit and became an instructor in firearms, use of force, behavior management, active shooter response, and verbal de-escalation. His expertise also extends to investigations, having worked in the Sex Abuse and Serious Injury Unit with Delaware’s Division of Family Services.
In 2019, Garrick was appointed Director of Public Safety and Chief Constable at Wesley College, where he oversaw campus security operations and emergency response initiatives.
Beyond his institutional roles, Garrick has managed security for private events, entertainment venues, and nightlife establishments. He also serves as a lead safety and security team member for Power in Praise Ministries.
Garrick holds the prestigious Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation from ASIS International, a global standard in security management. He continuously expands his expertise by maintaining instructor and end-user certifications in firearms, use of force, basic life support, and more. Additionally, he is a dedicated Gracie Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, further enhancing his skills in personal defense and conflict resolution.
